How To Update AVG, McAfee, Norton, Avast, Kaspersky, And BullGuard?
Antivirus software is the necessary part of every PC, Laptop and Mac. These software programs are specifically designed for comprehensive protection against viruses, malware ad threats. But, there is a fact that you have to keep your antivirus program up-to-date all the time. If any antivirus gets out-dated then it might not work that much to protect you against threats, malware or virus. So, it is advisable to update your antivirus to stay protected from advanced threats and viruses. In this post, you will learn the update procedure of some trusted antivirus programs such as AVG, McAfee, Norton, Kaspersky, Avast and BullGuard.
AVG:
- First of all, open the AVG user interface and then,
- Go to the menu and then Settings
- Make sure General is selected from the left panel and select Update
- In the application section, click on Check for Updates
- Wait until AVG checks for application updates
- When the update is finished then, restart your device and enjoy the latest version of AVG.
McAfee:
Process 1
- From the McAfee icon on the desktop:
- Double-click on the McAfee icon on the desktop
- Click on PC Security and then click on Update McAfee APP

Process 2
- From the M-shield icon next to the clock
- Right-click on the M-Shied icon that appears next to the clock
- If the McAfee icon is not visible then, click on the Show More icons option
- Now check for the updates and then starts the update procedure by clicking on Next
- Wait for the update to get it finished then a message will prompt to make sure that you are now updated
Norton:
- First of all, open the Norton antivirus and you can get it on your task bar or in the start menu
- Click on “Options” that appears on the top of the Window
- Now, enable the live update and then click on “Apply”
- After doing this, all updates will be downloaded and automatically done by Norton
Avast:
Via User Interface:
- First of all, open Avast Antivirus
- Click on Settings and then,
- Choose Update and click on Update that appears next to Program
- Wait until the Avast update is installed properly
Via the Taskbar:
- First of all, right-click on the Avast icon
- Select Update and then click on Program
- After doing this, wait until the update is finished and when prompted to restart your system click on Restart Now to get it rebooted immediately
Kaspersky:
- You can run a database update via the User Interface
- Open the Kaspersky Antivirus from the system tray
- Then, go to the Protection and Control tab of kaspersky and expand the Tasks section
- Now, right-click on the Update task and then select Start update from the shortcut menu
BullGuard:
- First of all, open the BullGuard application and then,
- Click on the Settings option that appears in the upper section of the Main Window
- In the opened window, click on the Advanced button and then go to General > Updates > setup the update regularity
- After that, wait for the completion of the Update process of Bullguard and then reboot your system
